CATS

North Carolina

Penny - Liberty, NC   ADOPTED!(1/25/20 still avail)

Meet Penny, a Manx-mix cat with the cutest stub of a tail!  She is 4 yrs old, FS, and only 7 lbs.  Penny would do best in a home with no kids under 12 and she is litterbox trained. Sadly, Penny is in kidney failure.

Penny is a petite and adorable brown tabby born in March 2014. As for personality, you couldn’t ask for a sweeter girl than Penny! She likes attention and being petted and loves a quiet lap and having her neck and ears gently massaged and scratched. Penny will also be happy to carry on a conversation with you in her teeny tiny voice. She does get along with other friendly cats, but is very non-aggressive and timid, making her a target for cats that tend to be bullies. For that reason, she might also be fine as someone’s cherished only cat. Penny is a young girl, but she is in kidney failure. We aren't sure why, but the vet has confirmed it is progressive. Penny is very particular about what she'll eat, probably because of the kidney issues but she is happily eating Weruva canned food right now! So, as you can see, Penny’s kidney condition and fussy appetite means she needs a special adopter, someone who is patient and loving, willing to accept her situation and able to provide the care she needs.

Penny is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, has been wormed and treated for fleas, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV/FIV and heartworms. Her adoption fee is waived for the right home. Daisy and Rosie - McCormick, SC

Meet Rosie and Daisy, 10 yr old female spayed siblings.

Rosie and Daisy are quiet girls who were left behind when her owner was killed in a car accident April 19, 2019. They've never been separated.  They lived with a single woman and 2 small dogs. Both are very unobtrusive and sleep most of the day but do enjoy being petted. Medical is up to date. This is a dire situation with no home in sight and the shelters called do not think her (and her sister's) chances of being adopted good at their age and would most probably be euthanized.  For more information you can call Sydnee Voigt:  864 602 1549  or email: straycatoutreach@gmail.com

Jade - Siler City, NC

This beautiful senior is Jade.  She is a 14 yr old, 8 lb, female spayed cat.

Jade is a 14-year old female cat. She has diabetes and is on special food and 2.5 grams insulin two times per day. She is super sweet, loves to be petted and to lay in the sun napping but can be a bit shy if too much activity is happening in the house.  She is good with any animals who will be gentle with her.

We have relocated and are unable to take Jade with us so are looking to re-home her with someone who will love her and take care of her needs. She is currently boarded with our vet in Siler City, NC.

For more information please email or call: Candace Clark ccingram65@gmail.com 919-799-1759.

Redd and Tank - North Myrtle Beach, SC (2/9/20)

Meet Redd and Tank!  They are neutered male kittens and are looking for their forever home!

Redd comes with his very own best friend, sibling, and seeing eye "cat" Tank. These 2 inseparable boys were found in a ditch in a very rural area of South Carolina as newborns, and unfortunately try as we have, little Redd's one eye has no vision at all, and the other, very impaired and limited vision. But fortunately he doesn't know he's any different than his brother, he gets around just fine, and they are two of the most active, playful, and affectionate boys ever.  They get along with everybody!!

They are fully vetted and combo tested and ready to find a wonderful forever home where they can lavish their family with years of joy and love ! They are with us at the Head Butt Hotel in North Myrtle Beach and out of state adoptions are not a problem.

For all information, please email: christine@headbutthotel.org.

Sadler - Okatie, SC (2/23/20)

Meet Sadler!  He is an approximately 1 yr old, 8 lb, male cat.

Sadler came to Palmetto Animal League in August of 2019 after being attacked by a dog in his feral colony. He was semi-feral when he came to us but quickly learned that we were here to help him and now you'd never know he was ever feral!

He lost the feeling and use of his hind legs and to tell when he uses the bathroom. He does require bladder expression three times a day. He has come a long way with his ability to move his back end and his love of people. He is certainly spoiled! He has a stroller that we take him on rides around our adoption center, and we have ordered a custom wheelchair for him to gain more mobility.  Sadler does well with other cats but not dogs as he is too vulnerable due to his special-needs.

If you are interested in adopting Sadler please contact sally@palmettoanimalleague.org or (843) 645-1725.  His rescue would like an adopter to be within the Lowcountry/Savannah Area.  The address of the rescue is: 56 Riverwalk blvd Okatie, SC 29936

Purrfection - Fayetteville, NC (5/10/20)

Meet Purrfection!  She is a senior (exact age unknown), female spayed, 5 lb short haired cat.

Purrfection was a shelter pull to avoid euthanasia but the rescue that pulled her is now defunct. She was the last rescue kitty who hadn't been adopted and was brought to me by her foster, who had nowhere else to take her. Her age is unknown, although I think she may be on the upside of 10 years-old?

She is blind but can get around well if she is comfortable in her surroundings. She does not overly care for other dogs and cats, nor young children. I would love to see her go to a home where she can thrive and roam freely without being afraid. She loves cuddles and pets and is quite forceful to receive them!

Her current foster would like her to stay relatively local and is willing to drive up to 50 miles to meet an adopter. Contact for further information: Text preferred at 910-366-5059, or email andromeda5174@gmail.com.

Mandy - Mt Pleasant, SC  (7/12/20)

Meet Mandy!  She is a 4 y old, 8 lb, female spayed cat.

From her current rescue: I am looking for a short-term foster home for wonderful Mandy, who has medical special needs.  She is so rewarding to care for!

I rescued her after she suffered a pelvic fracture as a kitten. She is able to walk slowly, but due to nerve damage is incontinent. Mandy requires 1 room to walk around and keep her legs stretched to avoid stiffness. I express her bladder several times a day, and have an extra vinyl floor for her new location.  This is not difficult and is easily taught!!

The period of time for fostering will vary from 1 week to 1+ month, while I am dealing with new fosters, heavy workload, or out of town.  Therefore I am looking for a foster near Charleston SC. Mandy is affectionate and loves attention. She is super smart and talks to me, especially when she wants to be picked up. I have a special bin for her to sit in next to me, it is adorable! She loves to snuggle on the bed and I use bed pads for her to lay on. Please contact me for more information about fostering sweet Mandy by email at: petpeeps10@gmail.com. Thank you!
