Callie - Thurmont, MD
This beautiful and loving senior kitty is Callie. She is approximately 11 yrs old or older, weighs 8 lbs, is spayed, and good with her litterbox.
From her rescue: We don't know much about Callie's past other than that she seems to be dumped on a property with a can of cat food. Fortunately she was dumped at the right persons home who knew she needed help and brought her to us.
A quiet home would be best for this endearing lady. She really is a sweetheart and loves to be with you and get head scratches. She gives a pretty good head boop! She doesn't love being picked up but she is otherwise in great shape and such a sweet girl. We also have learned that she has cataracts. She doesn't have the best sight or hearing, but she is a lover and really craves and enjoys attention! She has some arthritis in her hip. She would do best in a home with no other pets.
Callie recently had blood work done for a teeth cleaning and she is doing great for her age. Unfortunately, Callie has been with her rescue for 15 months and due to her aggression with other cats, she is out of her cage overnight but can't be out when the majority of the volunteers are there during the day. They do their best to give her individual attention but she deserves a wonderful home of her own!
Surely there is a quiet home out there who is looking to add a loving companion? Dexter - Baltimore, MD
This handsome elder statesman is Dexter! He is a 14 yr old, 13 lb, neutered male cat.
Dexter is a sweetheart of a guy, he loves receiving pets and giving/receiving head bonks. He has no teeth and is a diagnosed very mild diabetic. His diabetes is well controlled with diet (canned pate only) and hasn't had insulin in over 2 weeks now and then only once in the 2 weeks prior to that. His insulin will go to his adopter and instructions provided on how to test his blood sugar.
Dexter also has a neuropathy in his rear legs which makes him walk down on his hocks. It doesn't really hamper him at all. He's a great boy and deserves more than life in a foster home. Let's get Dexter into his forever home!
For all information please email email@example.com. His rescue would like him to stay within approximately 100 miles of his rescue but all interested parties should contact them!
Allie - Chestertown, MD
Meet Allie! She is a 4 yr old, 12 lb, female spayed cat.
Allie is an absolute sweetheart with everyone she meets! She is young, full of personality, and a professional snuggler. Unfortunately, she is also diabetic. She needs an insulin shot twice a day (once every 12 hours) and this isn't a big deal! She is currently in foster and we have been told by her foster that she does well for her injections.
The problem that Allie's current foster is having is that there are multiple animals in her home and Allie is a bit of a bully with the other pets (dogs and cats). Ideally we would like to find a forever home for Allie where she can enjoy being someone's one and only. Fostering would be an option as well, provided that she is the only animal in the home. In a foster situation The Shelter would provide the necessary insulin and syringes but in that case the foster would need to be local to Chestertown, MD. There are no restrictions on distance if someone were willing to adopt.
