CATS

Jojo - Centralia, IL

This beautiful boy is Jojo.  He is a 9 yr old, 9 lb neutered male cat.

Jojo was born at his shelter which means he has been there for NINE YEARS!!  He is much loved but he deserves a home.

JoJo is FIV positive. Our FIV cats are often overlooked and don’t find homes in our area which is so unnecessary but a lot of people don't understand how FIV is transmitted.

Most cats with FIV don't experience any significant FIV-health-related issues once they are fixed and living inside. The virus can affect their immune systems and make them more susceptible to kitty colds, and they are also prone to having dental issues, but most live long, relatively healthy lives.

They don't need any special care or medication, just an indoor lifestyle and regular check-ups with a veterinarian. The thinking has also changed on how easily the virus can be transmitted to other cats -- it's primarily transmitted by deep bite wounds, so it's now believed that non-aggressive FIV+ cats can safely live with non-FIV cats. (Regular indoor-kitty wrestling and rough-housing that doesn't result in bites that break the skin will not transmit the virus.)  Jojo does not have FeLV which is more easily spread between cats.

We want him to get a home! He is a sweet, loving cat that is so happy when he gets pets.  Every animal deserves a home!  He is able to be adopted to any state as long as his adopter comes to meet and get him.  For more information, please email hannagarrison10@gmail.com.

Romeo - Centralia, IL

This absolutely gorgeous Siamese is Romeo!  He is a 6 yr old neutered male 10 lb cat.

Romeo is such a sweet guy and so beautiful!  He is missing one eye and is blind in the other.  The remaining eye might need to come out at some point but right now he is just fine and, as you can see from the photos, it doesn't hinder him!!  He climbs up cat towers, and loves to lay in your lap, he's such a good egg!

Mama and Kittens - McHenry, IL

This is a sad situation.  This is a nursing Mama cat and her two little kittens.

Unfortunately, all three have tested positive for FeLV which is the Feline Leukemia Virus.

FeLV is a highly contagious virus between cats and can be passed by casual contact, such as sharing a water bowl, so these cats need to live in a home without cats or with other FeLV cats.  It cannot be transmitted to dogs or humans.  Cats with FeLV are totally fine until they're not.  The virus will eventually make them sick but cats can live for years and be fine, it's impossible to predict.  They need no special care or medications!

All of the rescue's foster homes have other cats. We hate to euthanize them when they are so sweet and appear fully healthy right now. We have to get them moved into a home with no other cats or only other FeLV positive cats or they will have to be euthanized.  If you can help, please email: Feralfelineproject@gmail.com.

Oreo - Champaign, IL

This adorable tuxedo guy is Oreo!  He is a 12 yr old, 17 lb neutered male cat.

He is a friendly, lovable, front-declawed hefty boy.  At 17 lbs, we call him "double-stuffed Oreo"--like the cookie.

Oreo is great with kids, people and other cats. He has not been around dogs. Oreo is a special needs cat because he has type 1 diabetes and takes insulin twice a day. He has been insulin dependent for six years and takes his shots really well. People are interested in Oreo until they hear about the insulin shots but they are truly NO big deal!! Oreo has been with HospiceHearts.org for almost a year, in a foster setting, located in Champaign, Illinois and will be a wonderful addition to any home!!

For more information you can email the rescue:  hospiceheartsanimalrescue@gmail.com or contact the Cat Adoption Coordinator at: debby.hospicehearts@gmail.com.

Bobbie - Bartlett, IL

This is Bobbie!  He is an 11 yr old, 12 lb neutered male cat.

Bobbie manages to look distinguished and handsome even in a diaper!  Bobbie says, no worries about a litter box with me, just change my diaper AM & PM & I am good to go. My foster mom will give you all the supplies and show you what to do! I would love to jump in your lap when you sit down, or talk to you while I follow you around. It would be best if there were no small children in my new home. If properly introduced, I would be fine with dogs. Please love me forever!  I'm available relatively local to Bartlett, IL.  Call my foster mom at 630-280-6628, or contact her at la300k@gmail.com to see me.

Boots - Bartlett, IL

This pretty girl is Boots!  She's an 11 yr old, 11 lb female spayed cat.

Could I ever use a good lap for a nap in a loving home about now! I have super soft black fur with white boots and bib, and a shy girl personality, just waiting to patrol the area for you. I am so shy that I need a very understanding adopter. I look forward to seeing you!

Boots is available for relatively local adoption to Barlett, IL.   For more information please email Linda Anderson:la300k@gmail.com or call 630-280-6628

Biker Babe - Streamwood, IL

This is Biker Babe.  She is an 18 yr old, 13 lb, spayed female cat.

Absolutely gorgeous! That’s what everyone says about me. Also, I am a super gentle cat who loves naps and brushing, and drinking from the faucet if you turn it on for me. Mostly I like laying near my foster human companion and dreaming about my forever home. With proper introduction, I would be okay with dogs. Also I am good with all cats, but am a senior, so I don't move as quickly as I once did.

Biker Babe is available for adoption semi local to her rescue.  For more information please email Linda Anderson la300k@gmail.com or call 630-280-6628.

Noah - Bartlett, IL

Meet sweet Noah!  He is a 15 yr old, 10 lb, neutered male cat.

Hi! I like to talk to you a lot, especially if you brush and pet me. Even more, I like to follow you around like a dog, sit on your lap, and talk again. As an independent sort, I would like an adults only home, want to be the only animal, and I make a great companion. I am front paw declawed.

Noah would like to stay relatively  local to his rescue.  For more information please email: Linda Anderson la300k@gmail.com or call 630-280-6628
