DOGS
Virginia
Buddy - Fairfax, VA (10/26/20)
Meet Buddy! This gorgeous boy is a 10 yr old, 65 lb male Collie.
We are looking for a foster family or permanent adoption home for sweet Buddy! He is a really sweet, calm, housebroken collie who is about ten years old. He was rescued from Missouri along with dogs from a puppy mill, poor sweet guy.
Buddy is well-mannered and loves to be around people. He enjoys acoustic guitar music and relaxing for most of the day. He definitely prefers a quiet household (older/respectful children only) and prefers to be an indoor dog, although will enjoy sitting on the porch. Loud noises do startle him, so he likes to have a place where he can curl up when they happen (like a big crate with a blanket over it, or a small space he can lay down in).
He successfully finished heartworm treatment, and takes medications for arthritis pain. He is currently on two medications: Gabapentin - 300 mg capsule, one every 12 hours. Prednisone - 10 mg. 1/2 tablet every other day. Due to his arthritis, he gets a bit stiff when laying down for a long time. He also requires a home with few steps. In spite of these limitations and minimal special needs, Buddy is an absolute gem.
Buddy should be the only dog in his new home, as he can be a bit snarky with other dogs. He is such a sweet boy and is deserving of a wonderful home! If you can foster or adopt Buddy, please contact Collie Rescue, Inc. of VA/DC/MD. Fosters must be in the Northern Virginia area. However, we will adopt Buddy to a great home no matter where they live, as long as his adopters pick him up in Virginia. Since he is a senior boy, his adoption fee is $100. Contact us at info@savecollies.org if you are available to foster or adopt Buddy. Visit www.savecollies.org for more information.
